Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know for your walking tour experience.

What should I wear for the tour?
Comfortable walking shoes are recommended since we’ll cover about a mile through Savannah’s Historic District. But honestly? The rest is up to you. Dress for comfort and the season and bring an umbrella just in case.
We tour rain or shine! So bring an umbrella if the forecast calls for showers and if you are staying downtown, many hotels in Savannah provide complimentary umbrellas and ponchos for their guests.

Most areas of the Historic District are accessible, but keep in mind Savannah is nearly 300 years old. Cobblestones and uneven terrain can make some sections tricky, though the majority of the walking tours of Savannah are manageable.

Public tours typically begin in Johnson Square, Savannah’s very first square, laid out in 1733. When you book your walking tour of Savannah, you’ll receive exact directions and meeting details from me once I receive your booking.
Yes, children are welcome on both public and private tours. Families and schools often find that a Savannah walking tour is the perfect mix of history and entertainment for all ages. I get many who use my tour for a homeschooling lesson as well as school field trips and scouting troops who want a unique and immersive look into Savannah’s rich history.
Yes. Private tours are fully customized to your group. From bachelorette parties to family reunions, a private Savannah tour lets you choose where it begins, where it ends, and how long it lasts.
All major credit cards are accepted. Walk-ups and last-minute additions can also pay with cash before the start of a walking tour.
The public historic Savannah walking tour covers just about one mile at an easy pace. Private tours are flexible and can be longer or shorter, depending on your preferences or how long you’ve booked for.
Yes. Three public parking garages are located within two blocks of Johnson Square, making it convenient for guests joining the walking tours of Savannah.

Of course you can, THIS is America, it’s your 1st Amendment RIGHT! Guests are encouraged to take photos during the walking tours of Savannah (Georgia). The squares, live oaks, and antebellum homes make for stunning backdrops.

Yes! In addition to my walking tours of Savannah GA, I also lead dining-focused experiences. I call myself “not a foodie, but a professional diner” and take guests to some of the city’s best restaurants, where history and Southern cuisine meet.

Unlike typical food tours, these experiences blend Savannah’s history with its dining scene. You’ll hear stories about the city while enjoying some of Savannah’s favorite dishes, cocktails, and hidden gems, all recommended by someone who has truly eaten his way through the city.

Absolutely. Many guests choose to pair a Savannah walking tour with a dining stop. I can guide you through the Historic District and finish the tour right at one of my favorite restaurants so you enjoy both the city’s history and its food in one experience. Just reach out to me when you are booking your private walking tour and I will send over my list of recommendations.
